Each month, PMI Memphis selects a book that challenges our thinking and sparks meaningful conversation. Our Book Club sessions are held online via Zoom — occasionally in person — and follow a simple 60-minute format of guided discussion, real-world application, and community. No formal presentation, no pressure. Whether you read the full book, skim a few chapters, or simply show up to learn from the conversation, all levels of participation are welcome. Open to PMI members and non-members alike, our Book Club brings together project managers, Agile practitioners, aspiring PMs, and professionals from healthcare, construction, tech, government, and more. It is a relaxed space to gain fresh perspectives, expand your network, and earn 1 PDU per session. Come with questions, come with stories, or just come ready to listen. All are welcome.
📘 Event Overview

It's time for our FINAL Book Club event of 2026! How do project leaders stay grounded, make sound decisions, and lead others when circumstances become uncertain, complex, or even chaotic?
Join PMI Memphis for our Q4 Book Club featuring Crisis Compass and a special conversation with author Michele Ehrhart.
This interactive session will explore lessons from Crisis Compass and how they can be applied to the real-world challenges project professionals face when navigating disruption, uncertainty, competing priorities, and high-pressure situations. Rather than simply discussing the book, attendees will have the opportunity to hear directly from the author about the ideas behind the work and explore how those concepts translate into practical leadership.
Together, we'll discuss themes surrounding crisis leadership, decision-making, resilience, communication, adaptability, and maintaining direction when the path forward isn't always clear.
Whether you are leading a major project, managing organizational change, responding to an unexpected challenge, or simply looking to strengthen your leadership toolkit, this conversation is designed to provide practical insights you can carry into your work.
✨ Special Feature

Author Michele Ehrhart will join us for the discussion, giving attendees the opportunity to engage directly with the person behind Crisis Compass. Come ready to learn, reflect, ask questions, and connect with fellow project professionals. Reading the book is encouraged, but you don't have to finish it to participate.
