PMI Memphis, TN Chapter’s PMP Exam Prep Course provides practicing project managers with focused, effective guidance for mastering the PMBOK6 curriculum and obtaining PMP or CAPM Certifications. Each instructor is a PMP-certified, practicing project manager with significant experience in applying core concepts to large scale and high risk projects.
The Exam Prep Course should not be viewed as an introduction to project management. Its sole purpose is to familiarize practicing project managers with core PM concepts and processes, optimizing exam preparation by providing multi-format coverage of both PMBOK and non-PMBOK material. Students also have the opportunity to network and to create study/support groups. The 24 hour course runs from 5:30 to 9:30 pm for eight evenings and includes classes covering the PMBOK knowledge areas and the Professional Responsibility curriculum. Seating is limited to the first 20 applicants on a first-come, first-served basis. The course includes all course materials.
There are no formal requirements for attendance, but it can be helpful for participants to read the PMBOK (version 6) before attending the course. It is also a good idea to verify eligibility to take the exam by reviewing the application process on www.pmi.org. At minimum, prospective students should review the application guidelines before making a significant investment in exam preparation. Please know that 3 years of project management experience is required to apply for the exam.
Another eligibility requirement for the PMP Certification Exam is documented completion of 35 hours of project management course work. Students who complete our Exam Prep Course will receive documentation for 24 hours of course work. The student materials will give you online access and test banks to get the remaining 11 hours.
Each student receives a kit of amazing prep materials written by Andy Crowe and published through Velociteach. We believe these materials, when used for all they have to offer, will more than adequately prepare any project manager to pass the PMP or CAPM on the first attempt. Between the textbook and online materials, each student will enjoy well over 1000 unique practice questions. The materials include:
- Textbook covering the most frequently tested content
- Workbook of all the instructor slides
- Access codes for a phone app for flash cards
- Access codes for conversations between Andy Crowe and others (aids in understanding and retention of concepts)
- License keys for 3 months access to video training content, study aids, a 500-question test bank, and three (3) 200-question test simulations

Learn about the PMI-ACP and PMI-RMP Certifications
Like the PMP certification, these two hold a great deal of value because of the work experience required to apply for the exams. One can get other certifications that do not have that requirement. Which do you think is better? A certificate backed up by qualifying, related experience or one that is not?
