    The BYOD Project

    Bring Your Own Device - Smartphone and Tablet Technology – Innovation and Integration within the Work-Force

    The months speaker will share IP’s approach to implementing a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) solution which enabled employees to use personally-owned smartphones and tablets to access selected company data.  Associated benefits, risks, and challenges will be covered, as well as legal, HR, and financial policy requirements that were identified.  Methods used to address communications and change management concerns will also be shared, along with employee feedback and lessons learned.


     

     Greg Jackson is a Business IT Manager, International Paper.  Greg joined International Paper in 2000 and currently serves as the IT Manager for Commercial Printing Papers, where he is responsible for leading the delivery and management of solutions that meet the information technology needs of the business.  Prior to this position, Greg was manager of IP’s Messaging and Collaboration team, which completed the company’s global migration from Lotus Domino to Microsoft Exchange and led the creation of IP’s Bring Your Own Device program.  Greg has also held positions with IP’s Enterprise Architecture and Data Center Operations teams.  Greg holds a Computer Engineering degree from Mississippi State University and an MBA from Union University.  He lives in Collierville with his wife Romona.
