       Managing Risk:How it impacts Business,Projects and Your Life

          Mr. Bob Mahler began his career in the U.S. Army in 1987 and quickly rose through the ranks in the mechanized infantry at Fort Hood, TX. He applied for Special Forces training in 1991 and was accepted for the role of Special Forces Communication’s Expert. He completed his training in 1992 and was assigned to the 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) at Fort Campbell, KY. Bob held a variety of military roles while conducting operations in the Middle East and Africa. He provided leadership to U.S and host-nation forces during military operations in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Iraq, Egypt and Kenya.

    While in the service Bob received training as a sniper, Arabic linguist, Para-trooper and in military freefall. He was also trained in a wide range of Special Operations weapon systems and tactics. Bob was also awarded a Bronze Star for Valor for his actions during combat operations.

    Bob left the service in the fall of 1998 as a service-connected Disabled Veteran. He then began a career in the telecommunications industry with Nextel in Nashville. He career continued in a range of leadership roles with Nextel Partners, Alpine Power Systems and then Sprint -Nextel. In 2008 he began consulting with TSA and DHS in strategic leadership and planning roles.

    Bob now spends his time consulting in a variety of roles for project management and risk. He is married with 4 awesome kids, and a very tolerant wife. He is also a very active volunteer with PMIWDC and is the current VP of Marketing for the PMIWDC Chapter and volunteer for PMI Nashville.
