     How Leadership Memphis uses project management to build our community                        


    Jared will share how Leadership Memphis accomplishes it mission, to prepare and mobilize leaders to work together for the good of the whole community, by using project management within small teams and multiple vendors to achieve community objectives within tight budget constraints.  He will also share the Leadership Memphis’ 4-program continuum that offers something for everyone who is part of the community leadership eco-system with the belief that graduates are the very people who will change Memphis – and in so doing – change the world.

    About Speaker:

    Jared is the Senior Director of Community and Alumni Engagement for Leadership Memphis. In his current role Jared seeks out new partnerships for Leadership Memphis as well as playing a lead role in marketing, communications, development, and recruitment efforts. Although he is not a native of Memphis, he now embraces the city as his home.

    During his time in the MILE ((Memphis Institute for Leadership Education) program, he and helped create a community-wide pep rally called the Spirit of Memphis in April 2010. The Spirit of Memphis helped to throw 27 pep rallies across the City of Memphis in 3 days, reaching over 10,000 people in addition to numerous television and radio appearances. Jared has been involved with Mayor Strickland’s River Front Task Force as well as many young professional groups such as Mayor Luttrell’s Young Professional Council. . Jared has an MBA from Christian Brothers University as well as the Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of Memphis.
